Peru Survey Trip 2014
"Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us;
we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God."

From the beginning of January to the end of March 2014 we lived in Puerto Maldonado, Peru. God graciously gave us many opportunities to learn and serve and answered many of our questions about future long-term ministry opportunities there. We praise Christ for his church-building work in Puerto Maldonado and the surrounding areas.

"Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor;
not lagging behind in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord;"

I spent two weeks with the Fitzgerald family in Puerto Maldonado, Peru in December 2012. It gave me a good overview of life and ministry in Puerto Maldonado, Peru.
The Fitzgeralds were very gracious and hospitable hosts. I praise God for their hard-working service for the Lord! |

"For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ,
that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor,
that ye through his poverty might be rich."

During the summer of 2010, we went to work alongside the Whatley family for eight weeks. Half of the trip was spent working with local churches in the Cuzco area, and the other half of the trip was spent serving God in a small tribal community in the southeastern Peruvian jungle. We praise God for the work he did in and through us during that trip.

During the summer of 2009, Kelly and I spent two weeks in the area of Cuzco, Peru
serving alongside the Whatley family (the family I did my missions internship with in 2006).
Peru Internship 2006
"And they sang a new song, saying, 'Worthy are you to take the scroll
and to open its seals, for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation' . . ." Revelation 5:9 (ESV) After my junior year in college in 2006, I went on a nine-week internship to Peru. There I enjoyed incredible preaching and ministry opportunities in the mountain and jungle regions of Southeast Peru. God used the contacts that Mr. Mark Vowels, the director of missions at BJU, had made to provide the specific ministry opportunities that I had felt God directing me to for several years. God provided opportunities to see local church and seminary ministries in the mountainous regions of Cuzco for about five weeks of the trip. The other four weeks were spent teaching the Bible and English in the low-lying jungle village of Miaria (Yine tribal group) on the Urubamba River (one of the many tributaries of the Amazon River). God used that trip to confirm a desire that He had given me to train men to be pastors and assist local churches in the jungles of South America.
